John Gorman specializes in aligning the interests of the public and private sectors on matters pertaining to municipal infrastructure. He provides strategic counsel to valued clients on policy and procurement matters relating to energy, water and transportation. John has a depth of experience in municipal, provincial and federal government relations stemming from over a decade as a senior executive with a national government and public affairs consulting firm. He has since spent the last 8 years advising leading corporations on procurement and policy matters in the Ontario infrastructure market. John successfully applies his strategic abilities to PACE's stakeholder relations practice, designing consultation and communications programs that engage the necessary communities of champions and experts to ensure adoption and uptake of major infrastructure projects, as well as new policy and program initiatives. John’s expertise in the Ontario renewable energies sector began in 2000 with his appointment to the Board of Hydro Ottawa Holdings (2000 – 2003). He played a key role in the stakeholder engagement efforts associated with Ontario’s Integrate Power Systems Plan (IPSP), and later the Feed-in-Tariff Program (FIT Program), through his work with the Ontario Power Authority (OPA). John’s corporate clients in this sector include some of the most recognized energy companies from Canada and abroad. He currently sits on the Board of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA). John is the recipient of the "40 Under 40" business award for excellence in business practices. He is a strong advocate of sustainable policies and practices in all facets of community life and recently completed The Climate Project training program led by Nobel Laureate Al Gore to spread the message about the challenges of and solutions to the climate crisis. John is active with corporate and community organizations, as demonstrated by his commitment as: Director for the World Trade Centres of Canada; Member of the Blue Ribbon Advisory Panel of the Canadian Museum of Nature and the Great Canadian Theatre Company; Member of the Advocacy Committee of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO); Board Member for Hydro Ottawa and Member of the Advisory Board for Telecom Ottawa and Energy Ottawa; and Board Member for the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA). John is active on the political front, having been involved in several leadership and election campaigns at all three levels of government. He lives in Ottawa and is married with two children.
Grégoire Jodouin is an expert in public affairs, with a niche practice in stakeholder and community engagement. His expertise lies in his ability to comprehensively identify and analyze issues on the public policy agenda and to bring together and facilitate the relevant stakeholders to accomplish common goals. In this vein, Greg has designed and executed a number of strategic engagement plans at the local, provincial and national levels. He has been instrumental in assisting a number of clients position themselves positively with their stakeholders by developing strategies and programs designed to bridge the gap between governments, businesses and the community. He has also managed a number of engagement programs aimed at creating salient policy discussions around energy use, transportation, climate change and other sustainability issues. These have included the design and execution of Community Opinion Leader campaigns involving key opinion shapers in centres across Canada Greg is often called upon to contribute to publications, participate in panel discussions, and deliver presentations on matters of public policy and government operations. He is also the former editor of Ottawa Insider, a business publication that covered key government initiatives at the municipal level. Fluent in French and English, Greg has led the development and implementation of the communications and community engagement program for the Interprovincial Crossings Project, a complex environmental assessment funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, to select a bridge location from Ottawa into Gatineau, Quebec. Greg also managed the community engagement program for phases I and II of Choosing our Future, a partnership between the City of Ottawa, the NCC and Ville de Gatineau, to prepare the Region to face the environmental challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. In other achievements, Greg led PACE’s role on the City of Ottawa’s update of its Transportation Master Plan (TMP). The program consisted of an 18-month stakeholder and public engagement program designed to provide Ottawa residents with transparent and meaningful opportunities to provide input into Ottawa’s future transportation and transit system. The broad public support for the TMP’s rapid transit network led to the adoption of the City of Ottawa’s current East/West light rail plans, and followed on the heels of the cancellation of the initial North/South LRT program. Greg has also managed a number of provincial and national engagement programs, including the design and execution of Community Opinion Leader campaigns on behalf of the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE), and the Ontario Power Authority (OPA). He gained extensive engagement experience on a national scale early in his career, designing and executing a multi-year strategic communications and marketing program for Canada’s Search and Rescue Helicopters, handling all aspects of marketing, events planning, media relations, crisis management, media buys, trade shows, etc. In his previous life, he worked for various federal government departments, such as the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Foreign Affairs and International Trade and Revenue Canada. He has been trained in media relations (McLoughlin Media), advanced sustainability methodology (The Natural Step) and Community-Based Social Marketing (Dr. McKenzie-Mohr). |
